PJ (Rachel Sennott) and Josie (Ayo Adebiri) start a self-defense group at their high school consisting mostly of girls they want to sleep with. But the small problem with his plan is that he has no idea how to fight.
In this scene, the two have their first meeting with some potential participants at the gymnasium. And to say they wing it is an understatement. Describing the sequence, director Emma Seligman discussed the characters’ anxiety, desperation, and building fake confidence through improvisation.
