Here are all my must-haves for seamless entertainment. The best part? All of these necessities are inexpensive. I’ve even found some amazing fun pieces while thrifting.

Today we’re talking about entertainment essentials that you invest in once and use year after year after year. I encourage you to think about how you like to entertain – is it a formal dinner? Is it an unofficial app and finger food boards? Maybe backyard barbecues are down the road. This should give you some clues as to what you need most.
This is obvious but it must be mentioned. Have you tricked yourself with dinnerware and serving utensils? Buy all your pieces in one color. To me, it’s white (or some call it White tools). I chose a set of white plates and different sets of white serving utensils. This way, the table looks perfectly coordinated, and works no matter the holiday or season.
You might be thinking; But this is so boring! And I can tell you that’s really not the case. You can decorate the table with candles, centerpieces and patterned cloth napkins depending on your mood.
I also like to add a festive dish or two to the mix, e.g Beautiful transfer software. Or use some interesting seasonal cups to hold them Party strawsOr cutlery or coffee stirrers. Better yet, have the item stored or transferred to you. I like to incorporate this type of thing because it can be a conversation starter.
Walmart and Target have it Great dinnerware sets for 12 Because there is not much money.
Duh, unless you’re only serving finger foods – we need cutlery! I know it’s fashionable to have fancy gold flatware now. But I’m a traditional girl and I love, love, love Old style silverware. Especially if it has an antique look and has a patina.
Plates, serving utensils, cooking utensils
They are essential for serving food or preparing a buffet style dinner. I’m talking about Great dishes For Turkey or a large appetizer Large bowls When served a big plate of salad or pasta (or lots of potato chips for Cinco de Mayo or soccer games).
There is also a nice one, Large casserole dish, size 13×9 Useful for serving lasagna and yes, CasserolesIt can go from oven to table without any fuss.
You will get a lot of benefit from these items. I have a set of white serving utensils that I keep in my sideboard. I even take them out for casual dinners with just the four of us. As I mentioned before – everything is symmetrical and harmonious because it has the same color as the dishes.
Yes, you can buy really cute tissue paper. but Cloth napkins They are much more elegant and are better for the environment. There’s something about using a cloth napkin that makes you feel extra special.
Homegoods, Walmart, and Target are my favorite stores to buy cute cloth napkins. IKEA has lightweight tea towels that make great napkins. But you can also make your own napkins (no sewing) if you’re up for it.
I prefer chargers over mattresses anymore. Bedding crumbles, shrinks, and looks dingy after a while. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me. I like the charger though. You only need to invest in one set. these Versatile galvanized or Woven It goes with any holiday or season and can really decorate your table.
Salt and pepper shakers
It’s best not to assume that our food is absolutely perfect and that guests don’t need salt and pepper. Unless you are a professional chef. Memorizes Nice collection On the table and your guests will feel at home.
A small jug or broth boat
I have a confession. I hate gravy. The color doesn’t fit and I can’t do it. But I will not deny my guests. Shawn said gravy barely His favorite thing about Thanksgiving, beyond the turkey itself.
a A boat of sadness (or small pitcher) that can hold gravy, salad dressings, cream, and the like. It’s a nice thing to have and makes things look a lot more elegant than just throwing away an ugly bottle of Wishbone Italian sauce. Try to keep this in the same color family as everything else.
Cheese boards It’s not just for cheese. They can hold desserts, make a convenient tray for cutlery or small bowls of goodies, and add warmth to your table like no other. Again – Home Goods is full of this stuff!
In fact, I’m a big fan of the semi-home style of entertaining. I don’t want to spend all the time behind the stove. So I like to create a big dessert board filled with mini pastries, cakes, fruits, and desserts on a cheese board. Trust me, your guests won’t miss anything.
These were never on my radar until I got one of these These three tiered servers. When serving food, especially a buffet, using stepped tables and pedestals helps vary the height of the food. This keeps things visually interesting and makes your presentation even better. You can also use the tiered trivets and servers as a dessert board and cheese/nibble boards (the nibble boards are a nod to Erin French from The lost kitchen.)
Oh, and I mean pillars Cake platformBasically.
I use Our jug Regularly for two things; Water and sangria (when I make it). A beautiful pitcher of water with fresh lemon slices on the table is beautiful and you will use it again and again.
Some say scented, some say unscented. Whatever your choice, candles are essential and help set the mood and provide ambiance. You can also try the Pura diffuser for a welcoming scent. Keep the intensity low so as not to give anyone a headache or cause an allergic reaction. But the candles look beautiful and feel like a party.
I feel like I’m adding “ware” to every word in this post lol. In any case, whether or not you drink beer, wine, or other alcoholic beverages, you still need something for people to drink from.
I fell in love with These cups originate from IKEA I always pick up a few when I stop. They are great for water, wine or anything you want to put in them and they are very cheap. They’re dishwasher safe (they’re short and top-rack friendly!) and they can also be stacked in your cabinets to save space. They have proven to be very durable and great for a variety of drinks. You can even put candy in it!
Coming from an Italian family, I will also point out that you don’t need wine glasses. Yes, they are cute but they are not necessary. My Italian grandmother drank wine from basic water glasses, and frankly, that seems cooler and less annoying to me.
Please don’t ask me how many traditional wine glasses I’ve broken in the dishwasher. Yes, I get it – traditional wine glasses are beautiful and there’s something about holding them sometimes that makes you feel a little more comfortable. I just encourage you to think outside the box.
Drinkware is kind of the host’s personal choice, because I’ll drink from whatever the host or hostess wants to offer me. If you are a big whiskey fan, you may need a set of whiskey glasses. If you drink a lot of sweet tea, tall glasses are probably what you want. We love too These glasses are impressions – It has a small thumb indent on the sides for easy grip.
If you serve a lot of wine, you may want to invest in some cookware and some decorative wine glass markers. Then people can follow up on their glasses.
Is there anything worse than coming to a party and sitting there in silence? I mean, I’m sure there is, but the silence can be deafening. Music is a must. Get your favorite playlist and Inexpensive Bluetooth speaker And you are ready.
Powder room basics
First, let me say that A Cleaning Bathroom/powder room is essential. You should have extra toilet paper ready (a nice wicker basket can hold it), nice hand towels (more than 1) and some Beautifully scented hand soap. Bonus points for a small vase of flowers or greenery.
I also like to put a pile of beautifully wrapped soaps (Homegoods,… Amazon Sell it) on the tank tray behind the toilet or even in the sink area. They’re for display only, but their scent escapes the packaging so your powder room always smells nice without the risk of fire from an unattended candle. (We all know Aunt Debbie can’t carry wine.)
If you are having a large party with a lot of guests, you may want to invest in it Disposable hand towels. Once again – Home Goods to the Rescue is here! There’s nothing better than washing your hands and then drying them with an incredibly moist hand towel that’s been used dozens of times before. Eek! I can’t be the only one who has this lovable expertise.
So that concludes this post. You’ll feel more comfortable when you have these entertainment essentials at your fingertips and ready to go to your next meeting. And if you’re going to a party, don’t come empty-handed. We all know the effort it takes to host a party!
