First level:

  • 1 can refried beans or refried black beans

  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 pkg Taco Seasoning

Third Level:

  • 2 avocados, mashed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise

Fourth Level:

Fifth level:

  • 1 bunch scallions (green onions), chopped

Step 1: Layer the ingredients

In a small glass dish (you can also use a pie plate), layer beans, then sour cream mixed with taco seasoning, then salsa, then avocado mixed with garlic and mayo, then sprinkle onions on top.

Step 2: Top with refried beans

Place the refried black beans on top of the dip instead of the bottom so it looks a little more like graveyard dirt. Feel free to layer this dish in any order you like.

Step 3: Chill for an hour

Chill for at least an hour or more or until ready to serve. (Can be made a day ahead and covered in the fridge.)

Step 4: Tombstones and Trees

You only need 2 large tortillas to make the tombstone and tree. Cut out the shapes you want, place on a parchment paper-lined cookie tray and bake at 350 until the tortillas are nice and brown.

Step 5: Tortilla Decoration

Soak the tortilla chips a little before you plan to serve them because they will get a little soggy if they sit out too long.
