Instructions on how to DIY Halloween S’mores Bars:

Step 1. Draw and carve a flame pattern

Use a Sharpie to create some flames on the front of your pumpkin. As an example, see the photo for step 1.

In hindsight, I would have moved my whole design up a bit, putting a sturdier pumpkin under the cutout. I could do this because when I put the little battery powered pumpkin lights inside, it became visible from the outside and I wish they were a little more hidden at the base of the pumpkin.

Use your pumpkin carving tool to cut around your Sharpie line. If you don’t want to buy a pumpkin carving tool, you can use a nice, sharp kitchen knife.

Step 2. Carve the rest of the pumpkin

Repeat step 1 for all 6 of your pumpkins. Stack them in a pyramid like the picture for step 2.

The mine formed a beautiful, stable pyramid leaning against the back wall. But, if you don’t have a wall behind it, I would recommend using a hot glue gun to adhere them together.

Pop small pumpkin lights under the pumpkin. Glitter (from Michael’s and other party stores) will give you a great candle effect.

Step 3. Build the Indoor S’mores Fire Pot

Your small metal buckets are almost completely filled with river rocks. Next, nest your sterno fire pots into the rocks and fill around.

You can see on the right what the pot will look like when lit – you get a great dramatic blue flame!

Step 4. Set up food items in containers

Arrange food in baskets/buckets and place bamboo sticks in tall glass vases.

Step 5. Decorate your S’mores bar

Decorate the S’mores bar and decorate with spooky crows and harvest pumpkins. Light the Sterno fire pot with a match, and dive in! Happy roasting s’ mores!
