You can thank Henry for this. He wanted to be Luke Skywalker Very badSo we all agreed to it and got into the Star Wars spirit. Depending on which version of the characters you choose, you can get most of these items from your own locker as well!

This tutorial contains instructions for Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia, and Baby R2D2.

Peter Pan family costume

Maggie was only 1 month old but we still managed to put something together! Henry happens to like Peter Pan, and we realize that if Maggie was baby Michael, all she had to wear was pink leggings. Brilliant.

This may require a little searching for a few pieces, but we got most of them from thrift stores or Amazon easily. See the post for all the details!

Pinocchio family costume

This family of 4 costume is inspired by the classic Disney character Pinocchio! We have tutorials for Pinocchio himself, Geppetto, Jiminy Cricket, and the Blue Fairy.

Lumberjack outfit

DIY Lumberjack Halloween Costume

Nothing like a pregnant lumberjack, right? I remember the day we took this photo – I was so pregnant and uncomfortable! And I had to laugh because my plaid shirt was barely buttoned.

but! Halloween was calling so we cut down the woodcutter. This one is pretty simple – plaid shirt, jeans, shoes and a hat. Fun accessories like gloves or fingerless suspenders (or an axe!) are an added bonus.

Like soda jerk

Soda Jerk DIY Halloween Costume

All you need is a white button-down, a paper hat, a small bow tie, and a fake ice cream cone for this 50s costume!

It would be even cuter as a couple or family costume – have the rest of the family as ice cream cones and one person can be a soda maniac.

DIY simple cat ears

This is for all you Mean Girls fans – put ears on it and you can be almost anything for Halloween.

These little ears take five minutes and cost only a few dollars (unless you already have the supplies in your craft closet!).

Throw on a black t-shirt (or an LBD if you’re going out on the town) and you’re good to go. Black Cat costume, you’re done!

Folk/hippie singer costume

I wore this outfit when I was pregnant with Henry and it was perfect! If you have a pre-pregnancy belly, I think you can’t do much better than a folk singer or hippie. I think it adds something extra to the outfit (haha!).

This is one of those things you could probably gather from your own closet – pick out all your flowy things, collect your beaded jewelry, and let your hair do what it wants.

Knight costume

DIY Mouseketeer Halloween Costume

How adorable is Ryan in his Persian outfit?! (Also, how much better have we become at taking photos since four years ago? Hahaha!) Love this.

If you have Disneyland Mickey ears, you’re good to go. We happened to have this old camera which gave the costume a fun feel. Otherwise, just a baseball tee and suspenders make the look. xoxo
