Strawberry single cake with apron costume.

Strawberry Shortcake is the star of the show! And it’s easy to transform into her with just a few clothing items like her signature striped socks and shower cap that makes the perfect hood! Then all you need is a little felt and a hot glue gun! No sewing needed.

Necessary supplies

This classic strawberry shortcake costume is teamed with a white apron over a red dress. Green diamonds were glued to the front and a giant strawberry was glued to the top of her hat! With green and white striped socks and brown shoes, you’ll look like your favorite childhood character in no time!

For the apron

1. Start by cutting 3 pieces of green felt in a diamond shape (4 inches wide).

2. Arrange all the diamonds on the front of the apron facing down, leaving about an inch of space between them.

3. Glue it in place, then wait a few minutes for the glue to dry and completely set.

For strawberry hat

1. Using red felt, cut out a round diamond shape for the strawberries. It will be wider at the top and messier at the bottom.

2. Cut off the top of the strawberry and remove the green felt. It helps to first draw the shape you want with a pencil and then cut it out.

3. Finally, hot glue the strawberries to the center of the shower cap. Then glue the stem slightly overlapping the strawberries. Allow everything to dry for a few minutes.

How to make a lemon chiffon costume

If there’s a group of you, turn the Strawberry Shortcake costume into a group costume by adding her friends. First up is her citrusy friend, Lime Chiffon!

Necessary supplies

This strawberry chiffon Halloween costume is put together with a white petticoat decorated with pink flowers worn under a lime green dress. A bright green ribbon is attached to the top of her shower cap, and green and white tights and brown shoes complete the look!

For the hat

1. Take your green ribbon and tie it into a bow. Cut off any excess tape from both ends.

2. Next hot stick the tape to the top of the pink shower cap. Allow the glue to cool for a few minutes before putting on the cap.

To decorate the skirt

1. Take your small pink flowers and arrange them where you want them to be placed on your petticoat.

2. Once you are satisfied with the pattern, glue it in place and let the glue set for a few minutes.
