Deco Mesh Pumpkin Wreath

I love working with Deco Mesh. You can see proof of this in my studio with these deco mesh flowers and this deco mesh poinsettia for Christmas. I didn’t have a wreath for fall so to make this I actually took some inspiration from my Deco Mesh Dandelions deco mesh pumpkin wreath,

You can get Deco Mesh from any craft supply store, big box stores like Walmart will have a limited selection, and you can buy it online Too. Would you love to buy Deco Mesh Pumpkin Garlands? there are Many Variations Available From sellers on Etsy.

Deco Mesh Pumpkin Wreath

As I mentioned above, I took some of the inspiration for this Deco Mesh Pumpkin Wreath from my dandelion flowers that hang on my studio wall. You’ll notice this when you watch the video at the end of this post. The video is of me making yellow dandelion flowers, but it’s the exact same method for pumpkins as well. Check it out at the top of the printable version!

Tips & Facts

  1. Full disclosure, I used Floracraft decorative mesh, but they don’t have an orange tint on Amazon. So I’ll link to a similar product on Amazon Here, You should be able to find it easily at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and maybe even Walmart.
  2. can buy small bags of silk leaves Or you can use the leaves that came with the silk flowers. If you only have stemless leaves, glue them onto popsicle sticks so you can insert the sticks into the Styrofoam. This is necessary so that the leaves are high enough that the pumpkin deco mesh can be seen from behind the roll.
  3. For this Pumpkin Wreath, you will need Two Per 10-inch x 10-yard roll. You can probably get away with it, but better to be safe than sorry! And you can return it anytime if you don’t use the other one.

How to Make Deco Mesh Pumpkin Wreaths

I highly recommend that you watch the video above as it shows the process of making the “tube flower” which is the base of the pumpkin. This is a picture of the beginning of that process.

  1. Cut the Deco Mesh roll into 10-inch lengths, giving you fairly even squares of mesh.
  2. roll a square and insert a floral pin in the center of the tube.
  3. fold in the middle and dab a little hot glue Near flower pin prong.
  4. insert the pin at an angle on the edge of styrofoam discs,
  5. Continue this process around the circle and move towards the center until the disc is full.
  6. Invert the orange tube flower so that the Styrofoam disc is facing up.

  1. cut a 24 inch long piece of green deco mesh (or you can use a piece of felt green, Roll it into a loose tube so that the resulting tube is twice as large as the orange tube.
insert floral pin
  1. Insert floral pin on the bottom third of the tube.
burn to disc
  1. Apply some hot glue near the prongs and insert into the top end of the disc.
insert leaf stems
  1. Insert the leaf stems into the upper ends of the discs on either side of the green tube.
  2. Tie orange ribbon to a loop hanger and affix it to the disc. The loop should not be visible behind the stem when viewing the wreath from the front.

  1. Cut an orange piece to cover the back of the disc and the bottom of the stem and hot glue in place. It will also protect your door from scratches! tie misconduct around the green stem.

  • 6- inches 5 7/8″ Styrofoam discs
  • U-shaped floral pins
  • 24- inches 10-inch green decorative netting or a sheet of green
  • 1 felt sheet orange
  • 4 large silk leaves with stems see tip below
