Christmas cheer on a plate…actually, a board. Here are some beautiful Christmas charcuterie board ideas that are guaranteed to impress your guests. However, they are both vegetarian – there is no meat in these charcuterie.

How to Make a Christmas Charcuterie Board
1. first things first. You will need a tray or board. This can be anything from a cutting board to a decorative food tray. Even a lazy Susan, which I used in another charcuterie board idea.
2. Food preparation is next on the list. Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before cutting them into slices, sticks, etc.
The more variety the better. For example, halve cherry tomatoes, slice figs, cut cucumbers and peppers into long sticks, etc.
3. Next, make food arrangements. I suggest spreading out the largest items on the tray/board first.
In this case, with the Christmas Tree Charcuterie, the biggest ‘piece’ is the cucumber Christmas tree, but I actually put the cheese on first.
Keeping in mind that the beech tree will take up most of the tray.
4. Then start adding other things. This is when I prepared the cucumber Christmas tree.
And then fill the remaining spaces with small items – crackers, vegetables, fruits, etc.
Again, the more variety in colors/shapes of foods the better.
5. finishing touches. I cut the dried piece into a star and placed it on top of my ‘tree’. Then, added some honeycomb and some edible flowers, and the whole thing was ready to serve – after adding a few cheese knives and/or serving spoons.
You can make charcuterie boards ahead of time and refrigerate them until guests arrive. I would say up to 24 hours before is fine.
Cover it with saran wrap, parchment or cloth cloth.
However, in this case, you may want to wait until just before guests arrive, rather than placing the crackers in the refrigerator with the rest of the plate.
Foods to Include in a Charcuterie Board
There are so many wonderful options when it comes to creating fruit and vegetable boards like this one, whether it’s during the holidays or any other time of year.
Here are some foods that would be delicious on a charcuterie board…
- Artisan Cheese (a blend of hard cheese and soft cheese)
- Fresh Vegetables – Cucumbers, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, snap peas, radishes
- Fresh fruits – berries, citrus fruits, figs, pomegranate
- dried fruits
- Delicious crackers and soft bread
- Refined meat (optional – none of the boards I make contain meat)
- Chutney, Jam, Spread, Mustard
- different types of nuts
- Herbs for garnish – such as thyme, rosemary, basil, sage
- Edible flowers (a nice touch, but not necessary)
Foods to Avoid on a Charcuterie Board
I’m sure there are many more things that could be added to the ‘do not use’ list.
But for now, I’m talking about the foods to avoid when it comes to charcuterie boards.

Christmas Wreath Charcuterie Board (on a Lazy Susan)
This revolving Christmas charcuterie board was made the same way as before, with just a few changes.
When using a round Lazy Susan, you will want to add a bowl in the middle first. This will make room for the crackers and dip at the end. And it also gives you a guide on where to place the vegetables to make the wreath.
I used mostly greens for the wreath to make it look leafy. The green vegetables I use are:
- snap peas
- Mini Zucchini
- *I didn’t include cucumber in this, but I would have liked to.
And then for ‘ornaments’ and a pop of color/contrast, I added:
- grape tomatoes
- Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes
- Mini Mozzarella Balls
It’s helpful to spread the vegetables evenly across the plate to make it feel balanced and more rosary-like.
From there, remove the bowl from the center and place a ring of crackers around it. And then add a small bowl of dip in the middle.
If you’re someone who likes to have multiple dip options for guests (same is the case here), I usually include a few more dips on a nearby table.
There are plenty of options this way, but it’s not necessary to force everything on a lazy Susan.
