Choosing Wall Art for a Dining Room » Lovely Indeed

Here’s a super easy and cute hack to breathe new life into your dining room using wall paintings!

Seven years ago, we remodeled our house and created a dining room.

I love having a space for family and friends to gather, and this room in our home has seen countless parties, celebrations, and family dinners.

What didn’t you see? New art. never.

I hung some pictures I took on the wall (which, by the way, were too small for the space), and I kind of forgot they were there.

So when Desinio The team suggested we collaborate, and my head was spinning with endless possibilities and options for new wall art!

How to choose wall art

Desinio It’s one of the best kept home decor secrets if you ask me. And I’m not a gatekeeper, so I’m spreading this secret far and wide!

Their philosophy is that stylish wall art should be accessible to everyone. The selection is so beautifully done, and I really feel that no matter what your style, you can find some amazing selections.

But like…how Do Did you choose wall art? It can be very difficult to search through hundreds or even thousands of possibilities.

So I always recommend starting with (hear me out) A Vibration.

I knew that in our dining room I wanted to choose pieces that would make me feel like I was on vacation. So I started looking for Decinius Posters and prints Use their filter tool to search for topics like Food + Drink, Landscapes, and Maps + Cities.

From there you can use the Favorites tool to quickly select your favorite pieces. Once you’ve selected a few, you can choose to “View All Favorites” on the Desenio website to see if you have an emerging theme, or if you’ve picked out a few pieces that might work well together!

Perfect size wall art for the dining room

Now let’s talk about size!

I wanted to combine poster sized prints with some smaller sizes to add some visual interest. I also chose some sizes that I can rearrange in a few different ways to switch them up.

But since you’re thinking about size, make sure you choose something that doesn’t overwhelm your space, or be too small for a larger wall.

Many of the pieces at Desenio come in multiple sizes so you can customize exactly what you need. They also have some simple and beautiful (and affordable!) items. Framing options To give the art a finished look.

Choose colors

After choosing about 40 favorite pieces, I scrolled through them all and definitely saw the color palette taking shape!

I gravitated toward a mix of sky blue, blush pink, and some yellow accents. So I narrowed it down and chose a few pieces that would work well together.

I also love the idea of putting a few pieces together for a gallery wall using just one color for inspiration – so stunning! this Gallery wall page It has a lot of inspiration to get you thinking.

And finally, the big question: How do you make everything look good together on the wall?

I ended up with six interchangeable pieces, and I’ve actually tried a few different configurations.

To make the gallery wall process incredibly foolproof, you can use Desenio Gallery wall tool. You can choose from many different configurations, then place any of the pieces found on the site into a template so you can see how your artwork will look on the wall.

I’d love to know what type of art you would put in the dining room – let me know your favorites! xoxo
