Asymmetrical Holiday Mantel Garland | Centsational Style

Asymmetric mantel displays have been trending for years, with garlands that are off-center and hang to the left or right. This year I made an asymmetrical garland in my living room and I love how it turned out.

Mine mixed real garland (fir and juniper) and faux pine garland that I could reuse, with eucalyptus added for texture and scent. Mini string lights and gold berries complete the look. I share a few more up close shots on Instagram.

Asymmetric garlands take longer to install than symmetrical ones. It must constantly change the arrangement until equilibrium is achieved. Where garlands are heavy on one side, decorations like stockings or candlesticks balance the weight.

Below are some more examples of mantels with left or right asymmetrical garlands for inspiration.
