The appletini, or sour apple martini, has just four ingredients and is easy to make and easy to drink. 😉 Yes, it’s a dessert martini and more on the sweet side, when you make your own at home, you can customize it to your preference. So, in this post, I’ll be sharing my appletini recipe as well as ways to change it. And if you want something a little sweeter, try the Caramel Apple Martini!
While I usually make this recipe with vodka, you can substitute it with gin for a more floral and classic martini. You can also choose to add a little cinnamon and sugar to the rim for a dessert martini vibe.

You’ll see in the photo below that I used sparkling apple juice to make the appletini shown here, but this isn’t necessary. Any apple juice will work.
In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients. Then add ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold to your hand.
Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a granny apple slice.
Tips and alternatives
- You can use gin instead of vodka if you prefer.
- Any type of apple juice works well. You can also use apple juice for this recipe.
- Store clean martini glasses in your freezer and you’ll always have a chilled glass ready to use when you need it.
- If you don’t have it Cocktail shakerA mason jar with a lid will also work. Simply strain through a Cocktail strainer To prevent ice from getting into your chilled drink.
