I could add 75 DIY headboard ideas to this list, but I don’t want to waste your time scrolling through projects that aren’t that good just to increase the number in the title. I wanted only the best headboard DIYs on the internet. So I scoured Pinterest, every awesome DIY site I know, and looked at every headboard roundup I could find and picked only the coolest/cutest/coolest options to share. Hope you like them as much as I do.

More sleep, less Mondays! I’m relaxing this week and hoping we can all go back to dreamland for a few more hours with a roundup of my favorite DIY headboard ideas. If you can’t take a nap, at least you can make your bedroom look great, right?

You may remember this headboard DIY from my office guest room ideas post, where I shared a room I designed for a show house just outside Atlanta, GA. The design-challenge was to create an inviting space that served as both a home office and guest bedroom.

I made the headboard from a large wood panel that I got from an art supply store for $60. Not a bad price for a minimalist modern looking headboard, right?

Hang it just like you would a piece of artwork, with a few nails in the wall and maybe some extra security with some Command hooks to keep it in place. As easy as it can be!

13. Buy a gallon of paint.

The easiest headboard idea I’ve ever made is the one above. I painted the wall straight away dark green, so it wouldn’t take up any physical space and could be quickly changed to fit any changing style.

This would be a great way to incorporate color into a kids’ room too. Let your child choose the color they want, and then when their favorite color inevitably changes, a new headboard is only a quarter of paint away.

14. Bundle a pillow.
